Katherine Van Meyl is a psychotherapist in private practice at Umbrella Insights, human rights educator and Registered Psychotherapist. She has advised police service, social service and health service providers on human rights related policy issues and prepared clients for testimony before House of Commons committees.
A SSHRC doctoral fellow and PhD candidate in social work at McGill University, Katherine holds a bachelor’s in criminology and Masters’ degrees in sociology, and counselling psychology. She is a passionate expert in the field of mental health and has spent a lifetime advocating for marginalized groups both nationally and internationally.
